Monterey County extends the vaccination eligibility, which allows more people to get vaccinated. According to updates, as of February 11th, 2021, over 300 residents have died of complications relating to the coronavirus
And this has caused the county to try to extend the vaccination eligibility, which will allow more people to get vaccinated.
Monterey will open vaccination to 65 and older people who work in high-risk jobs, starting from March 3rd. These jobs include food and agriculture, child care, education, or emergency services. Plus people living in high-risk areas.
Ksbw says they’ve redesigned the clinics to be able to cater to more people. According to the assistant Navigator for Nivildad, Janine Bouyea, when speaking about the clinics, she said,
“I think we are moving in the right direction. It’s great to see people coming to the clinic and very hopeful,”
“We do have to see a few people come to the clinic believing they are eligible when they get here and then finding out. And that takes up slots that would be eligible and aren’t able to get an appointment that particular day,”
Although the shots’ supply is pretty low, Monterey’s board of supervisors is doing all they can to get more shots for people in the county.
Monterey health officials have warned that residents should still strive to maintain COVID safety protocols. This is because of how fast the new COVID variants currently are.
These safety protocols include wearing face masks, maintaining a 6 feet distance from the next person, washing your hands regularly, and limiting interactions with people outside your household.
Our Monterey Testing Site Is Now Open!
As Monterey County extends their vaccination eligibility, we’re playing our part to help. Currently, we have testing sites in Norco, Torrance, and we’ve just added one in Monterey County. So that we can get to normalcy faster.
Our Monterey testing site is located at 1 Old Golf Course Rd Monterey, CA, 93940 at the Hyat Regency Monterey. Open Sunday-Monday from 8 am-6 pm. This will help people living in Monterey and the surrounding areas to book an appointment to get tested if they’re experiencing any symptoms of COVID.
